Each SoundHub system incorporates a scaleable object-based multi-channel delay-matrix and dsp engine to handle multiple sources and multiple zones in live performance, presentation projects and AV installations, ranging from theatre, opera, corporates, cruise ships and faith venues through to museums, experiences, attractions, theme park rides, hotels and clubs.
The compact 2U TiMax SoundHub chassis provides 16 input and 16 outputs in analogue or AES3 format which is expandable up to 64x64 with options for Dante and MADI. TASK-BASED PROGRAMMING AND CONTROL SOFTWARE
A PC and Mac compatible software suite allows the sound designer and systems integrator to quickly dial in all source mixing and routing, zone levels, EQ and Cue Snapshots. S-Version adds a suite of TimeLine, PanSpace and StageSpace object-based spatial rendering tools to create immersive dynamic spatialisation, playback and show control Cues.
A show Cues and playback content are uploaded onto the TiMax Soundhub’s internal SSD’s and can then run from the PC/Mac computer, external showcontrol systems via the integral GPIO, MIDI, MTC and XML interfaces, internal Date/Time scheduler or even the front panel. Complete shows, including audio content, can be exported and imported as Archives for easy portability.
Each Cue can crossfade between different matrix and zone level/delay settings using Snapshots which can also recall EQ’s, and/or trigger multiple TimeLine dynamic spatialisation effects via Image Definition objects and audio playback events. Every Input channel has three submix inputs: Analogue/AES; Playback; or Network (Dante or MADI), which can also be switched or cross-faded by a Cue Snapshot. Each Output channel also has its own programmable delay adjustment for conventional multi-speaker system alignment.
The System Preset is loaded each time the Show is opened, and automatically initialises these values as well as global parameters such as stage tracking matrix crossfade times. Other Cue Snapshots can still be programmed to alter these Output parameters on a scene by scene basis.
All programming functions appear totally “task-based” to the user, using drag’n'drop with minimal keystrokes and no CAD-style block-diagram programming.
Familiar control functions such as Group faders, meters, EQ displays and libraries plus Cue Lists can be spread out across multiple windows and screens.
Single or multiple TiMax2 Soundhub units can be accessed simultaneously from any number of PC or Mac clients via a simple zero-config plug ‘n play system. Multiple units can be networked to appear as one large system or as a set of separate sub-systems.
TiMax SoundHub S-Version software provides an advanced showcontrol and sound design environment for demanding high-end productions and events.

S-Version allows Cue events to be programmed against individual Cue timelines. To help you during rehearsals, linked playback and Show cursors advance across the Show’s drag ‘n drop multitrack waveform window to display the timings of Cue events. A set of progress bars on the Cue List mimic this activity to keep you informed during the show.
A Cue can contain single audio events or composites of multiple audio events, with overlapping multichannel playback, looping, object-based panning and mix automation. Showcontrol Events are visually displayed on their own timeline bar within each Cue where they can be independently time-slipped relatively other cue events, audio clips and showclocks.
It can even start the Show off itself at the same time every day, plus have special Cues stored to play just on certain dates or tailored for specific times of day.
Showcontrol events such as MIDI Prog, Note, MTC Start/Stop, ShowClock Start/Stop, Go Cue follow-ons etc can be arranged to trigger at any time during any Cue, and Cues can carry multiples of Events at user-defined intervals. A Pre-Load event can be used to ensure multitrack music content plays perfectly in sync.
TimeLine AND PanSpace SPATIAL RENDERING
Programming of immersive spatialisation and panning effects uses a unique virtual object called an Image Definition comprising a set of matrix level and delay parameters configured to create a desired localisation. Animated multichannel spatialisation effects are programmed in two distinct and complimentary fashions: TimeLine panning, by placing Image Definition objects onto a waveform track to use it as the timeline for the pan; or PanSpace programming where you create pan effects more organically on a visual representation of the space.
In either case TiMax seamlessly interpolates between these objects, creating a smooth, immersive pan effect free of any hot-spots or holes. Any Cue can contain any number of pan events and mix automation on parallel tracks, which works equally well on external sources as internal playback tracks
Spatial pan rendering in PanSpace is done by dragging the mouse around multiple Image Definition objects placed onto a spatial representation of the space. Multiple Pan trajectories between pairs or groups of Image Definition objects can be recorded then de-constructed for editing numerically so you can infinitely vary pan laws and individual trajectory segment timings. The wishes of directors can be satisfied easily, predictably and quickly in demanding tech rehearsal situations.
Pan laws and timings can be infinitely varied in the TimeLine by slipping the position of Image Definition objects on a waveform track. PanSpace Nodes also appear automatically on the TimeLine tracks and can be similarly slipped into place to sync with relevant audio clips and showcontrol events. External sources, e.g. from QLab or Ableton, can be panned in the TimeLine by dropping Image Definitions (or PanSpace Nodes) onto dummy TimeLine tracks representing the external sources as virtual TimeLine playback tracks.
Familiar looking Timeline Edit functions allow sound clips to be manipulated and shaped extensively. Non-destructive editing allows Play Zones to be trimmed on-the-fly in rehearsals, as well as Loop Zones, loop repeats and crossfade times, plus Volume Profiling for mix automation.
Mix and spatialisation parameters can be linked across stereo or multichannel clips and TimeLine Pan and Volume nodes can be copied between clips. Individual clips or groups of clips can be Copy/Pasted between Cues with all Edit, Pan and Volume profile parameters intact. TimeLine and PanSpace screens can be floated out onto an additional monitor. Entire Shows can be Archived for export, including all audio clips, edits, dynamic pans and showcontrol data.
StageSpace SPATIAL REINFORCEMENT AUTO-RENDERING
StageSpace provides auto-calculation of spatial reinforcement localisation zone object level and delay parameters based on a scaled picture of speaker locations in a dimensioned plan of the space.
Different speaker type, throw and dispersion characteristics can be assigned to speakers, which get dropped onto the plan with their targeting and coverage areas displayed on the StageSpace.
A single click allows all or selected Zone objects to be calculated instantly, including all speakers or specific groups of speakers. Intelligent level-shading algorithms automatically compensate for distance and angle of speakers relative to each localisation Zone object origin.
FRONT PANEL CONTROL
A series of simple front panel screens, soft switches and rotary encoder allow the user to recall stored Shows, and within each Show the individual Cues can be selected and triggered.
The user also has access to pre-assigned level, mute and solo Groups to make adjustments across multiple zones and sources. Very useful for doing installation system checks or trimming master or zone levels without firing up a computer.
Input and output metering provides signal level and clip monitoring. Individual Solo’s and Mutes allow for individual zone control, source switching and diagnostics. Access is fully password-protected.
TiMax SoundHub-M is a cost-effective audio playback server complete with the same dsp EQ/Level/delay/Group functions as all SoundHubs, and bundled with full S-Version audio editing, object-based immersive spatial audio rendering and TimeLine showcontrol. M-Version units are equipped with outputs only (analogue or optional Dante) in scaleable configurations from 16 / 32 / 48 / 64 outputs and tracks.

TiMax SoundHub-VR is a cost-effective ultra low-latency (<1ms) mobile audio playback server for theme park rides and attractions, in a compact half-depth chassis with 24VDC or 100-220VAC PSU options and the same dsp EQ/Level/delay/Group functions as all SoundHubs. It comes bundled with full S-Version audio editing plus object-based immersive spatial audio rendering and TimeLine showcontrol. VR-Version units are equipped with 16 outputs/tracks only (analogue or optional Dante) and also a built-in TiMax Portal MicroServer for interface with a wide range of external showcontrol platforms.
TiMax Portal introduces the first of several iPad and Win10 TiMax Portal touchscreen interfaces for controlling Cues and Zones via remote control, plus interfacing with advanced and bespoke external showcontrol platforms under TimeLine control.
Driven by a web server resident on our dedicated compact TiMax Portal MicroServer, the iPad app has a standard GUI to which the customer can apply a custom background skin and logo, plus name and assign Group faders and Cue buttons.
The 2U rackmount TiMax Portal ProServer can provide all the above plus bespoke tailored GUI’s, enabled in TiMax by a PortalPro Licence Key. Also interfacing with a wide range of external showcontrol platforms via AV-Portal,
